Visitors to Penn State Mont Alto can experience the campus’ historical beginnings as the Pennsylvania State Forest Academy through the archival exhibit “Mementos and Memories: Exploring the Artifacts of Mont Alto’s Past,” on display at the Mont Alto Campus Library through spring semester 2025.
It might not look like much from the outside, but Mont Alto's planetarium offers a chance for the community to explore the cosmos through a variety of cultural lenses over the course of an hour — and then it's packed away and removed, like it was never there at all.
Recently tenured and promoted Penn State faculty across the University were honored Oct. 2 through Penn State’s Promotion and Tenure Recognition Program, now in its 21st year, during a private event held in the Paterno Family Humanities Reading Room on the second floor of Pattee Library at the University Park campus.
Penn State Mont Alto held its annual Day of Service/Every Day is Arbor Day event on Wednesday, April 12. More than 100 faculty, staff and students gathered bags of leaves/debris, picked up downed branches, raked mulch, pulled weeds and ivy, and planted a variety of trees and flowers.
A new mobile Penn State id+ card is anticipated to launch in January 2023, allowing students to use their mobile devices to conveniently, safely and securely access campus housing facilities, purchase meals, and more.
From mid-September through the end of October, Penn State units at campuses across the commonwealth will be holding events in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month. The unifying theme for this year’s observances is “Nuestra Música (Our Music): Identity, Culture and Resistance."
Penn State University Libraries recognized seven outstanding faculty and staff on Tuesday, May 24, from among its more than 500 employees. Faculty and staff based at the Penn State Berks, Harrisburg, Mont Alto and University Park campuses were recognized.
Penn State Mont Alto will hold its spring 2022 Commencement ceremony at 10 a.m., on Saturday, May 7, in the Multipurpose Activities Center gymnasium on the Mont Alto campus. The campus will confer 135 degrees during the ceremony — 74 bachelor’s and 61 associate. Additionally, the ceremony will recognize 2020 graduates who were unable to participate in an in-person commencement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
